Rude Awokenings vol. III
98% of the writing I’ve done to move through this period of loss is between me and God—he said it was too weird and cringe to show any of you.
The remaining 2% can be found in these pages, along with my usual musings on art, Marxism and the special flavor of anxious lunacy that will probably be with me until I die.
It’s a record of things ending. And proof that even when things end, life goes on.
- excerpt from Introduction
Rude Awokenings is a serial zine about the life lessons that try to get our attention and which we desperately try to remain ignorant of for as long as we possibly can, even when we know its killing us.
In Vol. III, I am processing a breakup, overthinking the value of my work as an artist (as usual), and marking a turning point in my life with joy, grief & bewilderment (also as usual). Topics include Marxism, sandwich crusts and the beautiful, inevitable, crazy-making passage of time. Enjoy! —Bebe
